Easy Krispy Kreme inspired Doughnut recipes

Hello folks, here is an easy to make English recipe for doughnuts. The Biscoff doughnut is Krispy Kreme inspired with yummy Biscoff spread, crushed Biscoff buscuits, white chocolate curls and marshmallow fluff filling. You can also try making some these other flavours too Salted Caramel, Cinnamon Sugar, "Homer Simpson", Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Apple and Nutella. The recipes for all of these doughnuts are below. I enjoyed making these on a chilled day and was excited to see how they turned out. Happy making and enjoy!


Biscoff, Chocolate Caramel, Cinnamon Sugar and Sprinkle Doughnuts
Doughnuts / Donuts

To make the doughnuts, these are the utensils that you need.


Utensils

mixing bowl, mixer (with a hook attachment), clingfilm, baking parchment, large tray for doughnuts deep frying pan or pot, kitchen paper


Ingredients for doughnuts

480g plain flour

2½ teaspoons dry yeast

150ml milk at lukewarm temperature

75g caster sugar

2 teaspoons salt

3 eggs

7 tablespoons unsalted butter


For Frying: 1 - 2 cups sunflower oil


Method


Making the Dough: In the bowl with a dough hook of an electric mixer mix together flour, yeast and milk; for 3 minutes. Add the sugar, salt and eggs; mix on low speed until the dough comes together and mix for about 3 minutes. Add the butter, one spoon at a time, mixing after each addition and until butter is fully mixed. Remove the dough from the bowl and wrap tightly with clingfilm. Refrigerate for 6 hours and up to 24 hours. Line a baking sheet with baking paper, flour your hands and gently divide the doughnuts into balls and place the doughnuts on the baking sheet, cover with a piece of cling film wrap and place in a warm spot for 2 to 3 hours to rise. Frying the Doughnuts: Fill a large frying pan with 1 cup of oil and place the pot over medium-high heat. Once the pot is hot, fry the doughnuts. Fry the doughnuts 1 - 2 minutes on each side or until it is a golden colour and then drain the doughnuts on clean kitchen paper. Leave the doughnuts to rest for at least 10 minutes before icing. The doughnuts should be cool.

Now for the decorating. In this picture we have enough for 12 doughnuts consisting of caramel sauce, icing sugar, Biscoff spread, cinnamon sugar, sprinkles, pink icing sugar and white chocolate. I find it easier to lay out all the ingredients I need to make things quicker. I will also link below where you can find the specialty ingredients. The other ingredients can be found in any supermarket or corner shop.

Biscoff Doughnut (12 doughnuts)


Biscoff tastes like a delicious caramalised buttery dark sugar biscuit spread with a slight malt taste. This doughnut is lovely when paired with sweet mashmallow fluff and white chocolate.

Utensils

2 piping bags, 1 bowl, 2 tablespoons, knife, grater, large tray or plate for the doughnuts/donuts.


Ingredients

1 tub of Marshmallow fluff, 50g grated white chocolate, 1 tube of Biscoff spread and 3 crushed Lotus biscoff biscuits


Crush the biscuits in a bowl. Slightly warm the marshmallow fluff in a bowl with warm water. Scoop half the tub of marshmallow fluff into a piping bag. Scoop half the tub of Biscoff into a separate piping bag. Pierce a hole in both sides of the doughnut with a knife. Pipe the marshmallow fluff into one end of the doughnut. Pipe the Biscoff into the other end of the doughnut. Spread some of the Biscoff on top of the doughnut with a knife. Sprinkle some crushed biscuits on one side of the doughnut. Grate the white chocolate on the other side of the doughnut.



Cinnamon doughnuts (12 doughnuts)


Good doughnut for the keep it simple and cinnamon sweet lovers.

Utensils

2 bowls, 2 tablespoons, large tray or plate for the doughnuts.


Ingredients

200g Icing sugar, 5 tablespoons water, 2 - 3 tablespoons cinnamon, 50g sugar


In a bowl, mix the icing sugar and water. You want a slightly runny consistency. Start with less water first. Add more water bit by bit if the mixture is still thick. Hold the doughnut and dip it into the bowl with icing (dip the top you want covered). Shake the excess icing into the bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top of the doughnut.



Salted caramel doughnuts (12 doughnuts)


You cannot go wrong with gooey caramel and dark chocolate. Bitter and sweet.

Utensils

piping bag, tablespoon, large tray or plate for doughnuts, knife, bowl


Ingredients

200g Icing sugar, 5 tablespoons water, 50g broken dark chocolate, 1/2 tub of Caramel sauce


Fill a piping bag with caramel sauce. Use a knife to pierce a hole in the doughnut. Pipe the caramel sauce into the doughnut. In a bowl, mix the icing sugar and water. You want a slightly runny consistency. Start with less water first. Add more water bit by bit if the mixture is still thick. Hold the doughnut and dip it into the bowl with icing (dip the top you want covered). Shake the excess icing into the bowl. Top the doughnut with the chocolate.



Cinnamon Apple (12 doughnuts)


Good doughnuts with a fruity twist.

Utensils

small pot, bowl, knife, 1 tablespoon, large tray or plate for doughnuts


Ingredients

200g Icing sugar, 5 tablespoons water, 5 tablespoons cinnamon, 100g sugar, 2 apples, 1/4 cup of water


Chop two apples and put it in a pot with 1/4 cup of water. Sprinkle 50g of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon onto the apple. Let the apples cool down. In a bowl, mix the icing sugar and water. You want a slightly runny consistency. Add more water bit by bit if the mixture is still thick. Hold the doughnut and dip it into the bowl with icing (dip the top you want covered). Pierce a hole in the side of the doughnut and place the apples using a spoon. Shake the excess icing into the bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top of the doughnut and place some chopped apple on top of the doughnut.

Classic doughnut inspired by the Simpsons cartoon. This was Homer Simpson's favourite.

Ingredients

200g Icing sugar, 5 tablespoons water, 50g dark chocolate, 1 drop of pink food colouring.


In a bowl, mix the icing sugar and water. You want a slightly runny consistency. Start with less water first. Add more water bit by bit if the mixture is still thick. Add the pink food colouring and mix. Hold the doughnut and dip it into the bowl with icing (dip the top you want covered). shake the excess icing into the bowl. Sprinkle with sprinkles.




Peanut Doughnut (12 doughnuts)


For the nut lovers.

Ingredients

One jar of peanut butter, 100g salted peanuts


Put half the jar of the peanut butter into a piping bag. Pierce a hole in the side of the doughnut. Pipe the peanut butter into the doughnut. Spread peanut butter on top of the doughnut with a knife. Sprinkle the peanuts.


Nutella Doughnut (12 doughnuts)


Nuts and chocolate? who could ask for more...

Ingredients

One jar of nutella, 100g crushed hazelnuts


Put half the jar of the nutella into a piping bag. Pierce a hole in the side of the doughnut. Pipe the nutella into the doughnut. Spread nutella on top of the doughnut with a knife. Sprinkle crushed hazelnuts.
